Description
BARE HANDS is a 501(c)(3) non-profit alternative space for the exhibition of contemporary art works in all media, unique in its focus on Birmingham area artists. Its mission is to present work by both emerging and established Birmingham artists, as well as regional artists. It strives to educate the public about the cultural importance of contemporary art and artists in Alabama. It does this through exhibitions and gallery talks given by the artists, support for arts education, and by community outreach. Bare Hands sponsors educational forums and dialogues, which address the relationship between art and society.
